- The idea for this site came about as a result of my activities as a 17th century reenactor (here I have just fired a matchlock musket). Over the years I have accumulated a large number of research materials, very many copied from microfilms and facsimilies of period documents. These materials have been a great help to me in my studies and I hope by putting them up online, they will be for others as well.
- I reenact with Sir Thomas Blackwell's Regiment of Foote, Sergeant-Major's Company, a royalist English Civil War unit based in the northeastern United States. I portray Luke Knowlton, a veteran of the wars in the Low Countries, who is now the quartermaster-sergeant and clerk for the company.
